Three Basic Options Of Breast Cancer Treatment
By : Alex Olson
Breast cancer has been deemed as the most common type of cancer among women today. There are many documented cases of men experiencing this condition as well. Normally, this specific type of cancer is related to normal changes that occur within the breast of a female on a monthly basis. While these changes are normal, it is important to understand that the growth, or tumors, that can develop may prove to be cancerous. It is also important to remember that not all growths in the breast area are cancerous.
Cancerous growths that occur as a result of breast cancer can quickly spread to other locations throughout the body. This is why medical professionals stress the importance of conducting basic self-examinations of the breast on a monthly basis. If this disease is discovered in the early stages of development, there are a few basic treatment options available. If it is discovered in the later stages, there is still hope for successful treatment. Here, you will learn about these treatment options.
There are a few basic breast cancer treatment options. Before selecting a treatment for this condition, it is important for you to understand the ultimate goals behind them. The first goal, naturally, is to eliminate all traces of breast cancer in the body. The second is to ensure that the effective steps have been taken to reduce the possibility of the cancer returning. The determination of the treatment normally depends on the extent of the cancer, as well as the areas of the body that are affected.
Surgery is a common treatment option when it comes to breast cancer. Medical professionals will examine the type of cancer that is being experienced, as well as the progression of the disease before suggesting surgery. If a person is suffering from a growth in the breast area that is cancerous, they may need to participate in a surgery that works to save the breast. This type of breast cancer surgery results in the lump, growth, or 'cancer' to be extracted from the breast while the breast is kept in place.
Many individuals who experience breast cancer may have a large amount of cancerous cells in the breast itself. These cancerous cells may be so immense that they are starting to spread to other areas in the body. Many professionals who deal with this type of breast cancer will suggest a 'mastectomy'. This is a surgery that requires the entire breast to be removed from the body. This is normally performed in the advanced stages of breast cancer. However, if it is deemed as an appropriate procedure in the early stages of breast cancer, it will be done then too.
Many medical professionals have found that by providing a person who is infected with breast cancer various types of hormones, the cancer is stopped. This is a very productive treatment when it comes to preventing this type of cancer. As a matter of fact, if an individual has breast cancer surgery, most doctors will implement the treatment of hormone therapy in order to ensure that the cancer does not return. If you suffer from this type of cancer, it is important to discuss this option with your physician.
Radiation is also a common treatment for breast cancer patients. This is an important procedure for sufferers because of the fact that this treatment can effectively eliminate the amount of cells that are cancerous in the body. Many times, this procedure is most commonly used after an individual has had breast cancer surgery. This treatment will work to destroy any lingering breast cancer cells after surgery has been concluded.
As you can see, there are a number of treatment options available for those who experience breast cancer. If you suffer from this devastating disease, it is important that you learn as much as you possibly can about the condition.
You should work closely with your doctor to ensure that you experiment with a treatment that will be most effective for your specific needs when it comes to breast cancer. For individuals with this disease, there is a lot of hope. Most treatment methods are effective, and many will recover from the disease successfully.

Teach Your Child Good Eating Habits to Fight Obesity
By : Nick Mutt
Many children become obese at their early age. This is because of their poor eating habits. Parents must keep a close eye on what their child eat. This will help in eliminating foods that are not good for your child’s health. A careful selection of food is very important in order to keep your child fit and healthy.
Many children go thorough phases of being choosy eaters. This is a normal part of growing up. Children often want to eat a certain spot at a certain time. They eat a small quantity of food and yet are well, active and growing normally. Most choosy eaters are between 1 ½ years and 5 years of age. Children of all ages commonly have a few food dislikes. Sometimes they dislike foods because of their color but more often because they are hard to chew. Children prefer well cooked vegetables to raw vegetables. Below are some useful tips to manage a choosy eater:
1. Put nutritious food in front of your child. Don’t worry on how much he is eating. It is the quality of the food that is important, not the quantity.
2. Drinking too much liquid can reduce your child’s appetite. Limit liquid intake in the hour or two before meals
3. Satisfy your child’s sweet tooth by serving nutritious fruit based desserts.
4. Avoid their snacking more than twice a day let them stick to a meal schedule. If your child doest not eat at one meal, he will probably eat at the next.
5. Handle frustrating situations with patience, a positive attitude and firmness. Don’t be aggressive or emotional.
6. Offer your child some choice in food and give small portions at a time.
7. Try serving food in attractive ways like cutting vegetables in odd shapes, decorating with ketchup or herbs.
8. Make the meal time table a relaxed and pleasant environment, free of family conflict, tensions and distraction like TV. Make it an important family event.

Child Obesity and Preventive Measures

It is extremely difficult to remove obesity from the body once it gets established. And therefore, it is advisable to take proper care of all those children who are becoming obese from their very childhood. Mothers of such children should keep complete information regarding balanced diet and should take care to ensure that their children develop the right habits of eating and living.
Here, in this article we will discuss upon the root factor of fat deposit in the body and how we can restrict it to the normal level. In the human body, fat is present in the form of an independent tissue called adipose tissue. This tissue contains a large number of fat cells.
During the first year of a child’s life, the number of fat cells has a tendency to increase. After the age of one year, there is no appreciable change in the number of fat cells. The size of individual fat cells, however, may increase or decrease, depending upon the nature of energy imbalance. Thus, if a child is excessively fat during the first year of his life, the number of fat cells increases rapidly. Later on, fat gets accumulated in these cells and obesity ensues.
So the question arises, how to put check on the diet of your child. It is not desirable to impose a big cut on obese children’s diet. In this regard, the treatment of child obesity differs from that of the adults. It is unnecessary to make any efforts to actually reduce child’s weight. It is enough to devise a diet plan that ensures prevention of weight gain. As the child grows, he gradually moves towards his ideal weight. It is also necessary to insure that during his dietary regimen, he gets an adequate supply of vitamins and minerals.
Preventive measures against child obesity
The two most important things you have to do in order to prevent your child from being obese are –
1. Plan a diet for your child that contains low carbohydrate, medium fat and high protein food. Exclude carbohydrate foods like cake, ice creams, chocolate, jam, sugar, sweets, etc.
2. Encourage him to participate in sports and other physical activities. This will help him in shedding extra fat from the body.
Hazards of childhood obesity
Child obesity creates many hazards and disadvantages for children. Some of them are as below –
1. Obese children easily fall a victim to diseases of respiratory system.
2. Besides this, the long term dangers include increased serum insulin levels and increased serum cholesterol and triglyceride levels.

5 Heart Healthy Foods to Help Lower Your Cholesterol
By: Tom Savage
According to the American Heart Association website, over 106 million adults in America have elevated cholesterol levels which are at least 200 mg/dl. Those are staggering statistics. While there are medications which may help, you may be wondering if there are more natural ways to lower your cholesterol levels. Fortunately, there are – by making some changes to your diet and incorporating heart healthy foods and healthy snacks, you can start seeing positive changes in your LDL (bad) cholesterol levels. Following are five heart healthy foods to begin adding to your diet today:
1. Salmon and other fatty fish
Many studies have shown that salmon and other fatty fish contain significant amounts of omega-3 fatty acids, which help increase HDL cholesterol, while lowering LDL cholesterol. Omega-3 is found in the fish oil, and also helps protect the heart by lowering blood pressure.
Experts recommend eating a minimum of two servings per week of heart healthy foods like salmon. Other excellent fatty fish include rainbow trout, sardines, anchovies, white albacore tuna, mackerel, and herring.
Canola oil and flaxseed are also good sources of omega-3 fatty acids if you don’t particularly care for fish.
2. Oats
The benefits of oats, including oat bran and oatmeal, have been touted for a long time. If high cholesterol is a concern, they are excellent heart healthy foods. Oatmeal and oat bran contain soluble fiber, which has been shown to lower your LDL cholesterol. It does this by lowering the amount of cholesterol absorbed by your intestines.
It takes only 5 to 10 grams of this type of fiber each day to positively impact your cholesterol levels. Since a cup and a half of cooked oatmeal has about 6 grams of fiber, just add some fresh fruit, such as blueberries, and you will easily reach 10 grams.
Pears, apples, beans, whole grains and prunes are also very good sources of soluble fiber and thus heart healthy foods as well. Heart healthy oatmeal snacks, like Corazonas Oatmeal Squares, are made with whole grains. Both include a good source of fiber and protein which make them excellent heart healthy snacks and the Corazonas Oatmeal Squares have an added benefit of 800mg of cholesterol lowering plant sterols.
3. Nuts
One of the best healthy snacks you can eat is a handful of nuts. Walnuts, almonds, cashews, hazelnuts, pecans and pistachios are all healthy snack foods which will help lower your cholesterol. They contain many nutrients including omega-3 fatty acids and plant sterols, both of which help reduce cholesterol levels.
Walnuts in particular are great for lowering cholesterol in your blood. They contain high amounts of polyunsaturated fats and are good for your blood vessels. Although nuts are heart healthy foods, they are also very high in calories so don’t overdo it. Sprinkle a few on salads instead of croutons, or toss a handful in granola for breakfast.
4. Soy
Soybeans contain many heart healthy nutrients, including plant sterols and soluble fiber. They also contain phytochemicals known as isoflavones, which also help to increase your HDL levels while reducing LDL levels. Soy is also an excellent food because it’s a complete protein. Good sources of soy include tofu, soy milk, soy nuts, and tempeh.
5. Foods fortified with plant sterols or stanols
Foods are now available which have been fortified with sterols or stanols — substances found in plants that naturally help block the absorption of cholesterol.
There are numerous products on the market today which are fortified with plant sterols. These products include margarine, orange juice, snack foods, and bread to name a few. Adding plant sterols to your diet is a clinically proven way to help naturally reduce your LDL (bad) cholesterol by more than 10 percent. The daily amount of plant sterols needed for maximum results is between 1.5 to 3 grams per day. A typical serving in one of these products provides anywhere between 0.4 grams to 1.0 gram of plant sterols. Be sure to look on the label to know whether you are consuming plant sterols or plant sterol esters; you need to consume approximately 63% more plant sterol esters to get the same benefit as you would from plant sterols. Plant sterols are found naturally in plants and the average American gets approximately 250 mg of plant sterols from their diet. Vegetarians get approximately 400mg of plant sterols as they consume a significantly great number of fruits and vegetables daily. It takes approximately 10-12 pounds of fruits and vegetables to get the same cholesterol lowering benefits of that you find in a 1oz bag of Corazonas Heart Healthy chips.
Plant sterols or stanols in fortified foods don't appear to affect levels of triglycerides or "good" high-density lipoprotein (HDL) cholesterol. Nor do they interfere with the absorption of fat-soluble vitamins — vitamins A, D, E and K.
The American Heart Association recommends foods fortified with plant sterols for people with LDL cholesterol levels over 160 milligrams per deciliter (4.1 mmol/L).
You can begin decreasing your cholesterol levels today by adding these five heart healthy foods to your daily diet. Add other foods or healthy snacks high in soluble fiber and omega-3 fatty acids and you may find that you never need medication to control your cholesterol.

What You Really Need to Know About Breast Cancer
By: Adrien Brody
Breast cancer is the most common type of cancer among women in the United States (other than skin cancer). Each year, in the United States alone, approximately 220,000 women are told they have breast cancer. Upon hearing this unexpected and overwhelming news, a woman is faced with having to make treatment choices within a very short period of time. While curable if detected early, breast cancer is the leading cause of death for women ages 35 to 54.
Cancer is a group of more than 100 different diseases. Cancer occurs when, for unknown reasons, cells become abnormal and multiply without control or order. All parts of the body are made up of cells that normally divide to produce more cells only when the body needs them. When cancer occurs, cells keep dividing even when new cells are not needed.
There are several types of breast cancer. The most common is ductal carcinoma, which begins in the lining of the milk ducts within the breast. Another type, lobular carcinoma, begins in the lobules where breast milk is produced. If a cancerous tumor invades nearby tissue, it is called invasive cancer.
Cancer cells may spread beyond the breast to other lymph nodes, or the bones, liver or lungs. When breast cancer spreads, it is called metastatic breast cancer even though it is found in another part of the body. For example, breast cancer that has spread to the liver is called metastatic breast cancer, not liver cancer.
Doctors can not always explain why one person gets cancer and another does not. Medical researchers are, however, learning about what happens inside cells that may cause cancer. They have identified changes in certain genes within breast cells that can be linked to a higher risk for breast cancer.
Genetic changes may be inherited from a parent or may accumulate throughout a person's lifetime. Breast cancer usually begins with a single cell that transforms from normal to malignant over a period of time. Presently, however, no one can predict exactly when cancer will occur or how it will progress.
Every woman has some chance of developing breast cancer during her lifetime. As women get older, those chances increase. Overall, a woman's chance of being diagnosed with breast cancer is 1 out of 8. Even though breast cancer is more common in older women, it also occurs in younger women and even in a small number of men (1,300 cases per year in the U.S.).
While there is yet no preventive to stop breast cancer, early detection is vital to surviving the disease. There are three things women can, and should do. Get an annual mammogram (special X-ray screening) after the age of 50; regular (yearly) breast examination by a doctor; and breast self-examination (BSE) at least once a month.
If breast cancer is detected, it is important to remember there is no single treatment that is "right" for all women. As with most medical conditions, there is no "one-size-fits-all" treatment or cure. And all breast cancers are not alike. Breast cancer is a complex disease. Once breast cancer has been found, more tests will be done to find the specific pattern of your particular cancer. This is an important step called staging.
Knowing the exact stage of your disease will help your doctor plan your course of treatment. Your doctor will want to know: the size of the tumor; if the cancer has spread within your breast; if cancer is present in your underarm lymph nodes; if cancer is present in other parts of your body.
There are many options available and you can always ask more than one doctor about your diagnosis and treatment plan. Your best start is to gain as much knowledge about the disease and the treatments as possible. Find answers to your questions and gain assistance in your fight against a terrifying enemy. Remember, there are no "dumb" questions when you are faced with cancer.
Most women who are treated for early breast cancer go on to live healthy, active, productive lives. The best chance of survival is early detection, so plan for mammograms, have yearly visits with your doctor, and use self-examination frequently. Best wishes for years of good health!

Three Basic Options Of Breast Cancer Treatment
The Journey of Breast Cancer
Originally uploaded by Social Butterfly Jewellery (SBJ) by Melissa Ingram

Healthcare Insurance for Expatriates in the Gulf
By : Jharna Bhatnagar
If you have found a job in the Gulf and are looking to relocate soon, there would be many things that you need to sort out before you pack your bags and board a flight to the Gulf. Apart from your accommodation and family needs there, you would also need to look at one of the most important concerns of expatriates- healthcare insurance. A good healthcare insurance scheme is a must when you move to the Gulf. While there have been efforts to make healthcare insurance compulsory for all expatriates coming in to the region for Gulf jobs, there are still some hurdles that one might experience.
For most jobs in the Gulf, generally the employer will arrange your health insurance cover. For most companies, there is the group insurance scheme that will cover you too once you become an employee. Or, if not, the employer will ensure that you get a health insurance scheme when you relocate. It would be advisable if you ask all about this to your recruitment officer when you accept the offer. Ask about the scheme, the insurance cover, the benefits that it gives, the premium that you would have to pay, the medical treatments that are covered under it, etc.
If you want to avoid any hassles on this front later, the best thin to do would be to research and find out details about it before relocating. You can do online research, talk to friends, if any, in the Gulf or talk to your prospective employer. You must know all the essential details of the healthcare insurance scheme before you arrive in the host country. Some consider it an ancillary thing and do not pay much attention to it beforehand. That is a mistake and you should research about it thoroughly before relocating for your and your family’s benefit.
For different Gulf States, the working, procedure and the benefits of the healthcare system may be different. So, you must find out how it operates in your host country. At some places, there are special health care covers for expatriates. At other places, it is obligatory for the employer to cover all expatriate workers in the company healthcare scheme. At some places, you may find that there is no distinction between the locals and the foreign workers. In some cases, there may be a requirement for specific documents to procure the insurance cover. And every time, you use the healthcare facilities, you might be required to show a proof of your insurance cover.
Across the Gulf, there are varied standards of health care systems. You must ascertain what the health care standard in your host country is. If you have particular health problems in your family, do ask specifically about the standard of health care offered by the states where you are relocating. You must ensure that all health care concerns of your family will be taken care of at the new place. It might be possible that there are excellent general healthcare facilities in that state but not good arrangement for specialized treatments. You can discuss this with the human resources department of your company or the company health practitioner. Other than this, you should find out what the insurance cost is. This will also be different for different Gulf states and different insurers. Also, make sure that your healthcare scheme in the Gulf covers the repatriation or evacuation costs in case of emergencies.
Other than this, you need to find out the language of communication of the medical practitioners in the host country. Although most of them would speak in English, you should not make any assumptions. There might be cases where the doctors prefer talking in the native language as compared to English.
Even when your employer I staking care of your healthcare insurance needs, there are a few things that you need to understand on your own. You must find out the formalities regarding getting yourself registered with a doctor or a dentist. You should check if your healthcare insurance scheme limits your choice of doctors or dentists. How your insurance cover works in case of emergencies is also important to know. These are small things but extremely essential when you move to the Gulf for a job. Thus while you enjoy your stay in the Gulf, you can also be sure that your healthcare needs are taken care of.

It is a pandemic disease and people are really scared of it. H1N1 virus spreads out to other countries by way of people travelling from one country to another.
For the first time, humans have been exposed to this form of influenza and hence there is no specific medicine for this. This is the reason that has made the 2009 swine flu so dangerous. At present, there are no preventative drugs which can be taken so as to prevent it. Hence, children, elderly people and people who have a weak immune system should be cautious so that they do not get attacked by the flu. Swine flu was initially originated in Mexico and later the virus has spread all around the world. Cases of swine flu are starting to get visible in US. It has now been specifically renamed as H1N1 influenza or H1N1 flu to avoid people thinking as it has some connection to pigs.
People with 65 years and older, children younger than five years old, pregnant women, and people with weak immune system are at higher risk of getting affected with swine flu virus. The symptoms of swine flu are similar to normal seasonal flu, so to make difference between them is a tough task.
The common symptoms are high fever and chills in the beginning, severe fatigue and body aches. Other symptoms like cough, cold, sore throat, difficulty in breathing, headache, weakness and general discomfort are also present. Some people experience diarrhea, nausea and vomiting.
You are contagious if you have the above symptoms. So you should stay home unless you are going to hospital for treatment. It is important that you consult your physician for the swine flu tests if you notice any of these symptoms. If it is diagnosed in early stage, there is a good chance of making a quick recovery.
To prevent from getting in contact with the virus, cover your nose from a mask. If you have symptoms of cold or flu, cover your nose and mouth with a tissue when you cough and sneeze to prevent other people from getting infected. Wash your hands often with antibacterial soap. Avoid touching your nose, eyes or mouth since viruses spread that way fast. Avoid going to school, office or anywhere outside.
To learn more about H1N1 flu symptoms, prevention and treatment, you need to know complete information on H1N1 flu. Be sure to pick up the book on swine flu to keep yourself and your family away from this pandemic disease.

An American Universal Health Care System
By : Hugo Gallegos
Real health care reform is a complex issue; therefore it's not possible to cover every aspect of universal health care or reform of the current system in this short article. However we will cover as much ground with the limited space available.
Health Care System Needs Reform, Not a Government Takeover
Believe it or not, America boasts some of the world’s best doctors, the most advanced health care system, and the most technically superior resources in the world, bar none. Those who travel globally and have gotten sick know that their first choice for treatment would be in the U.S. Though health care in America is, more expensive than any other country, many of the worlds wealthiest come to the U.S for surgical procedures and complex care, because it holds a worldwide reputation for the gold standard in health care.
To examine the complex health care issue, a small research study was conducted from randomly selected doctors in mdnationwide.org's best doctors database. We ask 50 top doctors, located in different states and who practice different specialty fields, " Is a universal health care plan good for America?" Forty-eight of these doctors essentially responded that it was a "bad idea" that would have negative impacts on the quality of our nation’s health care.
Social Engineering Your Health Care
One of the greatest mis-conceptions some people have relied on with regard to the health care debate is that, given a universal health care system, every person in the U.S. would receive the highest quality health care - the kind our nation is renowned for and that we currently receive. However, unlike some public amenities, health care is not a collective public service like police and fire protection services, therefore the Government cannot provide the same quality of health care to everyone, because not all physicians are equally good orthopedic surgeons, internists, neurosurgeons, etc, in the same way that not all individuals in need of health care are equally good patients.
As an analogy - stay with me - when you design a software program, there are many elements that are coded on the back-end, and used to manipulate certain aspects of the software program, that your average "John Doe" who uses the software (the end user) does not understand or utilize, nor do they care about these elements. Certain aspects of the program are coded, so that when one uses that portion of the program, other elements of the program are manipulated and automatically follow the present or next command.
Likewise, once a universal health care plan is implemented in America and its massive infrastructure is shaped, private insurance companies will slowly disappear, and as a result, eventually patients will automatically be forced to utilize the government’s universal health care plan. As part of such a system, patients will be known as numbers rather than patients, because such a massive government program would provide compensation incentive based on care provided, patients would become "numbers," rather than "patients." In addition, for cost savings reasons, every bit of health information, including your own, will be analyzed, and stored by the Government. What are the consequences? If you're a senior citizen and need a knee replacement at the age of 70, the government may determine that you're to old and it's not worth the investment cost, therefore instead of surgery, you may be given medication for the rest of your life at a substantial cost savings to the government, and at a high quality of life price to you.
Solutions:
Fixing the current U.S. health care system might require that we;
1. Encourage prevention and early diagnosis of chronic conditions and management.
2. Completely reform existing government health care programs, including Medicare and Medicaid.
3. Forgive medical school debt for those willing to practice primary care in under-served areas.
4. Improve access to care, provide small businesses and the self-employed with tax credits, not penalties for providing health care.
5. Encourage innovation in medical records management to reduce costs.
6. Require tort reform in medical malpractice judgments to lower the cost of providing care.
7. Keep what isn’t broken-research shows 80% of Americans are happy with their current insurance, therefore, why completely dismantle it?
8. Reimburse physicians for their services.
9. Innovate a system in which Medicare fraud is dramatically decreased.
Devil In the Details
Socialized medicine means:
1. Loss of private practice options, reduced pay for physicians, overwhelming numbers of patients, and increasing burn-out may reduce the number of doctors pursuing the profession.
2. Patient confidentiality will need to be compromised, since centralized health care information will be maintained by the government and it's databases.
3. Healthy people who take care of themselves will pay for the burden of those with unhealthy lifestyles, such as those who smoke, are obese, etc.
4. Patients lose the incentive to stay healthy or aren't likely to take efforts to curb their prescription drug costs because health care is free and the system can easily be abused.
5. The U.S. Government will need to call the shots about important health decisions dictating what procedures are best for you, rather than those decisions being made by your doctor(s), which will result in poor individualized patient care.
6. Tax rates will rise substantially-universal health care is not free since citizens are required to pay for it in the form of taxes.
7. Your freedom of choice will be restricted as to which doctor is best for you and your family.
8. Like all public programs, government bureaucracy, even in the form of health care, does not promote healthy competition that reduces costs based on demand. What’s more, accountability is limited to the budgetary resources available to police such a system.
9. Medicare is subsidized by private insurers to the tune of billions of dollars, therefore if you take them out of the equation, add a trillion dollars or more to the current trillion dollar- plus cost estimates.
10. Currently, the government loses an estimated $30 billion a year due to Medicare fraud. Therefore, what makes anyone think that this same government will be able to run & operate a universal health care system that is resistant to fraud and save money while doing so?.

Why Exercises are Necessary for Good Health?
By : Nick Mutt
Exercise is necessary for good health. It makes you active and alert in your day to day activities. Exercise promotes digestion, lightness of the body, sturdiness of the body, reduces fat in the body and increases capability to do work. It increases the tone of the muscles, balance of autonomic, voluntary and involuntary muscles, increases the metabolic rate. Exercise makes lungs to function properly and also the decrease of gastrointestinal accumulations.
Exercise makes the body to sweat, and indirectly the function of the kidney is reduced. It helps eliminate toxins out of the body. Daily exercise will increase hemoglobin and alkalinity of blood and total protein is increased and also red blood corpuscles. Exercise promotes the physical and mental strength and will power and self-control and thereby the entire development of body will take place.
Exercise increases resistance of the body. It also increases caloric value in the body. It plays prominent role in the treatment of depression. It increases the hormones of beta, endorphins which promote and regulate the mood. In diseases also some sort of physical exercise is advised. Doctors advocate a sort of mild exercise in arthritis. Even in accident cases and fracture of bones and paralysis of body some types of exercise are used.
Exercise should be done early in the morning on an empty stomach. As soon as you feel tired then it is better to stop it. Exercises must be done only to get refreshed and relaxed. First start exercise lightly and increase it gradually and slowly in stages, so that your body must be adjusted to the changes in the body environment.
Exercise must be regularly and systematically practiced. Yoga, walking, swimming, cycling, horse riding and tennis etc are also a type of exercises. Exercise makes the person to live long in health and happiness.

Summer Sanity Tips for Work at Home Moms
By : Kim DeYoung
Here we are in the middle of summer and there are moments when I'm really enjoying myself and others when I'm really stressed. If you're like me I swing back and forth between the two. There are moments with my kids where I wish summer would never end and there are those times when school can't start soon enough!
Every mom can appreciate the extra stress of summer vacation but for work at home moms it can be even more challenging. Most of us can't afford to put our businesses on hold for three months. So what can help us manage our business while we still enjoy the summer with our kids?
Here are some summer vacation tips that I've found helpful:
Banish Guilt - Don't waste your summer feeling guilty. You can't do it all (be it every work project and every activity with your children) so for your own sanity stop expecting yourself to. Focus instead on being grateful. The gratitude stems from acknowledging your opportunity to work from home and run a business that brings your joy and income while spending quality time (even if it's not tons of quantity) with your children.
Focus on Your Priorities - Since you can't do it all it's important to have real clarity about which projects you're going to focus on, so your work is streamlined. Personally, I'm using the summer to focus on two key projects - my new Get It Done Coaching program and my Telesummit Blueprint System. With my kids at home much more than during the school year, my focus is either on them or one of those projects. Summer's not a good time to take on other activities that don't matter. Wait until fall, set clear boundaries for yourself, and say NO to what doesn't support you.
Plan Activities -Take a look at classes and camps that are available during the summer. I'll be honest here, I've usually sent my children to camp but this year, with my husband being out of work, the decision to send them to camp had us in a quandary. Can we afford to send them to camp? Can we afford NOT to send them to camp since we got a lot less work done with them at home during the day? (We opted for sending them a little less than previous years).
If you decide to forego a summer camp, there are usually activities in your local area like swim, tennis or art classes. This does require driving time but it will give you and your kids a little break from each other. You may also want to trade play dates with other moms or get grandparents to take the kids on some special outings.
Develop a New Routine - Figure out what work schedule supports you best during the summer. Maybe you'll want to get an earlier start or stay up late so you take advantage of the time your kids are sleeping later (if they do that). I've been bringing my laptop onto my porch so I can watch them outside when they play. Kids are more likely to cooperate if they know what to expect ahead of time. For example, will your kids cooperate if they can count on you working just until noon everyday and taking them swimming afterwards?
Put Them To Work - Get your kids involved in your business. This is a special advantage for work at home moms. Kids think this is fun and they're more likely to be supportive of your business if they're involved! My kids help ship out my monthly membership CDs and absolutely love using my postage meter. It's all just a matter of thinking what tasks are age appropriate and fun for them.
Limit Screen Time - Be strategic about screen time - which includes TV, movies, computer and video games. Sometimes it's okay... but it shouldn't be the only option available to your kids. Instead make a visit to the crafts store for art supplies or go to the library so everyone always has something new to read. For littler kids, find or buy some building toys (like Legos) and make a "dress up box" with some of your old clothes.
Let Them Be Bored - Finally, resist the temptation to rescue the kids when they say they're bored. In our busy on-the-go world we sometimes forget that boredom often leads to creativity. Let them know you have confidence in their ability to figure out how to spend their time.
I hope you find these summer vacation tips helpful. As hectic or frustrated as you might feel, summer usually flies by! Be grateful for the flexibility you have as a work at home mom and enjoy this special time to bond with your kids. Jump in the pool with them, ride bikes or grab a book and read under a tree!
